International Fellows of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons are required to meet the criteria for Members as attested to by letters of recommendation from two (2) current ASCRS Fellows familiar with the applicant.
The applicant must devote at least 50% of their clinical activity to colon and rectal surgery for at least two (2) years immediately preceding submitting their application for International Fellow.
To become an International Fellow the applicant must have attended at least one annual meeting within the three (3) years immediately preceding the Fellow Application submission and they must have served a minimum of two (2) years as a Member of the Society.

Qualifications
To be eligible for International Fellow in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the applicant must meet the following requirements:

Meet all requirements for Members in the Society as attested to by letters of recommendation from two (2) current Fellows familiar with the applicant.
These letters must attest that at least 50% of the applicant's clinical activity is devoted to the practice of colon and rectal surgery.

Served a minimum of two (2) years as a Member of the Society.

Complete and sign the ASCRS International Fellow Application and pay the $200 application fee and be current on membership dues.

Devote at least 50% of the applicant's surgical practice to colon and rectal surgery for at least two (2) years immediately preceding the International Fellow application submission.

Have attended at least one (1) annual meeting of the Society within the three (3) years immediately preceding the International Fellow application submission.
For Consideration
The following items must be submitted before ASCRS is able to process your International Fellow Application.
Once all documentation and the $100 application fee is received by the Society your application and supporting documentation will be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and then submitted to the ASCRS Executive Council for approval.
All Fellow applications require approval by current eligible voting Fellows to be approved.
Final approval is done twice a year:

Once prior to the Business Meeting at the Annual Scientific Meeting (May or June of each year)

Once in December

Copy of an equivalent certificate of ABCRS from an appropriate national surgical board, fellowship in Royal Colleges of Surgeons, and/or certificates of higher completion of training in surgery

Two (2) letters of recommendation from current ASCRS Fellows
