Why I am a member of ASCRS:
It prides me to be a member of ASCRS. Our field, as a whole, is passionate to the core about improving the care of patients with colorectal diseases. I admired this about my mentors as a trainee before embarking on this career path and have since come to find that this selfless commitment to bettering our field is innate among ASCRS members. The Society provides a means to contribute through idea-sharing, collaboration, learning, teaching, and mentorship.
What do you want your patients to know about you?
I will treat you as I would my own family. I am honored that you have chosen me as your surgeon. From the moment that our doctor-patient relationship is established, I will I take ownership in every aspect of your care to make sure that I lead you down a path to achieve the best possible outcome. Sometimes this means I will ask you to make some tough decisions about your health. Sometimes I must tell you the hard truth that nobody else wants to tell. I will always treat you like I would want to be treated if the tables were turned, and I was standing in your shoes.
