The ASCRS Video Mentorship Series is a series of intraoperative video-based coaching sessions, presented in the webinar format, with the goal of sharing operative techniques and improving procedural confidence. 2.pngBrian L. Bello, MD
Dr. Bello received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a graduate degree from Georgetown University. He finished medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia and completed a residency in general surgery and fellowships in both minimally invasive surgery and colon and rectal surgery at the University of Chicago. He is currently at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, where he is program director of the colon and rectal surgery fellowship.
 
3.pngJennifer Ayscue, MD
Dr. Ayscue received her B.S. from the University of Illinois and her MD from the University of Illinois Chicago. She then completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern and her fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She spent more than 20 years in Washington, DC, as the Regional Chief of Colorectal Surgery and the Vice Chair of Quality Safety and Outcomes. Currently, she holds a position in Orlando Health as the Chief of Colorectal Surgery for their West Region in St. Petersburg, Florida.
 
1.pngJim Khan, MD, PhD
Jim Khan is a consultant surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Professor of Surgery at the University of Portsmouth. His training included senior registrar at Basingstoke with Prof Heald, the National Laparoscopic Fellowship at Colchester (UK) with Prof Motson and a travelling clinical fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester (US). He also travelled to Korea for training in Robotic colorectal surgery with Prof Kim. Prof Khan has been a national trainer in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and European proctor and trainer in robotic colorectal surgery. His research interests include robotic colorectal cancer surgery, complete mesocolic excision for colon cancer, quality of life and functional outcomes after low anterior resection, and training in laparoscopic & robotic colorectal surgery. He chairs the robotic committee at ACPGBI, is director of research at ALSGBI, leads the colorectal group at the RADAR RCS consortium, and is member of core working groups in robotic surgery at the ESCP, ESSO and video based education committee at the ASCRS.
