CREST® Weekly 1/6: Percutaneous Management of Complicated Diverticular Disease

Our newest CREST® Weekly Curriculum module, Percutaneous Management of Complicated Diverticular Disease, is now available! This module discusses the role for percutaneous drainage of diverticular abscess. Included in the module are a narrated presentation, full-text articles from Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, a practice parameters guideline, and a brief posttest.

Objectives:

  • Describe which patients are optimally managed using percutaneous drainage in the setting of complicated diverticulitis.
  • Determine which patients require surgery following successful percutaneous drainage.

The module will review the short and long-term evidence behind this treatment. Objectives:

  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of THD in relation to other forms of hemorrhoid treatment.
  • Describe common complications associated with the THD procedure.
  • Describe the efficacy of THD and understand how this compares to other treatments for hemorrhoids.
